In 1969 the herb garden was created on a site previously occupied by old yews. Five Pillars of Irish juniper line each side of the central path leading to The Joiner’s Shop. The many long narrow beds are divided by equally narrow gravel paths.

Not only does the herb garden provide a tranquil and pleasantly scented area within which to relax but also nearly all of the herbs are used in the Mawley kitchens.
